Biosafety Cabinet Certification & Maintenance – BSC
SEPS offers comprehensive testing, certification and maintenance of biosafety cabinets. All biological safety cabinets ( BSC’s) are certified to meet NSF-49 F guidelines and manufacture specifications. SEPS technicians follow strict SEPS standard operating procedures (SOP) which remain in compliance with Federal and International Safety Guidelines.

Fume Hoods – FH
Chemical fume hoods are used to contain and exhaust chemical vapors. They come in different types and designs for different operations. Airflows in fume hoods are imperative for safe operation. SEPS offers airflow velocity tests and smoke patterns visualization tests as means of documenting a fume hood performance. Periodic testing, preventative maintenance and inspections can provide your facility a complete program for fume hood management.
Method of testing performance of laboratory fume hoods. There are different test procedures incorporated into ASRAE 110 test:
- Inflow Velocity Test with proper grid.
- Smoke Patters Visualization Test.
- Tracer Gas Containment Test
Animal Research Products
SEPS offers testing of animal transfer stations, waste disposal units, necropsy units and clean benches. Testing of these units ensures our customers of optimum productivity, versatility and safety of your research animals. Transfer stations are designed to provide animal protection and particulate control during routine cage-changing operations in the laboratory.

Laminar Flow Units – LFU
A laminar flow clean bench provides a working environment that has its own filtered air supply. In many cases clean benches or LFU’S provide ISO class 5 environments. Virtually particulate free work area for conducting procedures.
Laminar flow units prevent any contaminated room air from entering the work area and contaminating samples.
Laminar flow units do no protect users from exposure and should never be used when working with any infectious material or volatile toxic chemicals.
SEPS certified LFU’s to (IEST) Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology guidelines and recommended practices. IEST-RP-CC-002 is the current version.
